Allison Ayer is a native Vermonter and is a nationally certified massage therapist with licenses in Florida, New York and California. She received her B.A. from Bowdoin College in Maine and her massage training in Gainesville, FL at the renowned Florida School of Massage. She has completed additional coursework through the Upledger Institute of CranioSacral Therapy, the Institute of Thai Massage, the Ohashi Institute of Shiatsu, Neuro-Kinetic Therapy, Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex and various other programs. Allison has been working in this field since ’98 and ran her own business in Jacksonville, FL, Gainesville, FL, at the American Dance Festival and Bates Dance Festival, and now in San Francisco and West Oakland.

As a modern dancer/choreographer, swing and salsa dancer, yoga practitioner and general athlete, Allison understands the deep benefits of regular therapeutic bodywork. This is reinforced by the experience she had with clients providing injury rehabilitation and prevention. She has worked with professional dancers, Iron Man athletes, and professional marathoners as well as moms, fibromyalgia and TMJ sufferers, dentists and golfers! Allison also enjoys working with clients who simply need to relax and refresh from their hectic lives.

With training in P-DTR (Peripheral Deep Tendon Reflex), NKT (NeuroKinetic Therapy), neuromuscular therapy, connective tissue therapy, myo-fascial release, thai massage, shiatsu, sports massage, swedish, visceral manipulation and craniosacral therapy, Allison has a large bag of tricks from which to pull. Her sessions are thus highly individualized for her clients. Her massage has been described as intense, deep, transformative, liberating, highly effective, educational and relaxing.
